Dana Riley, an Industrial Electricity student at TTC Athens, has been named the local winner of the Tennessee Technology Center Student of the Year Program.

A resident of Dayton, Dana came to the TTC Athens as a displaced worker looking to be trained in a skill that would enable her to be marketable in today’s workforce. According to her instructor, Tim Wilson, “From Dana’s first day of classes she has been observed to be a driven and dedicated student of the Industrial Electricity Program.”

Dana is preparing for the regional competition to be held in January 2012 at TTC Knoxville, where she will give a speech on how her time at TTC Athens has impacted her life. In addition to the speech, there will be a thirty minute interview process.

At the regional competition two finalists will be chosen to compete at the state competition to be held at the Chattanooga Convention Center in April 2012.
